Aesthetically pleasing yet functional is Krystal’s mantra. Born and raised in the steel city, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she thrives off of the hustle and bustle of the city life. Being from the city, Krystal was exposed to a great deal of diversity and because of this she always had a creative eye. She had a knack for fashion and thought of becoming a fashion designer but fate had other plans. She immediately became interested in interior design when an interior decorator visited her elementary school when she was in the 3rd grade. She recalls the class being instructed to design their dream room over the course of a week. During this time she immersed herself into the project and from there knew that she wanted to be an Interior Designer.
From the time she was in middle school Krystal knew exactly what college she wanted to attend. She enrolled into Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2005, majoring in Interior Design. Looking for a more hands on approach she decided to transfer to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 2007. She graduated in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science in Interior Design.
Since graduating, Krystal has had the opportunity to gain experience in both residential and commercial design. She has 6+ years of experience that spans different facets of design which include working on high end residential spaces in Sewickley, PA to residences in Scottsdale, AZ. As well, she’s worked on office spaces, restaurants and hotels.
She has an eclectic style for design but leans towards modern/contemporary, transitional, coastal and Hollywood Glam. She truly believes in being unique and not following the crowd. This has allowed her to create fun, cool and expressive designs that are aesthetically appealing and functional.
